ABOUT NORTH COUNTY CANCER FITNESS
Why We Exist
North County Cancer Fitness was created to be more than a fitness program—it was built to be a community.
We saw a need for a space where individuals impacted by cancer could come together to feel supported, understood, and empowered at every stage of the journey. A place where movement could help rebuild strength, connection could reduce isolation, and shared experiences could bring hope.
At NCCF, we believe that healing is not just physical—it’s emotional and social as well. That’s why our approach is centered around Body, Mind, and Soul, supporting the whole person through movement, education, and connection.
Today, NCCF continues to grow as a place where individuals can find strength, build meaningful relationships, and move forward—together.

What You’ll Find Here
At North County Cancer Fitness, you’ll find more than a program—you’ll find a place to belong.
Whether you’re navigating treatment, rebuilding strength, or supporting someone you love, NCCF is a space where you can show up exactly as you are. Through shared experiences, encouragement, and connection, our community supports one another in ways that go beyond fitness.
Guided by our focus on Body, Mind, and Soul, we create an environment where individuals can move, learn, and connect at their own pace—surrounded by people who understand the journey and are there to support you every step of the way.
Who This Is For

NCCF is here for individuals at every stage of the cancer journey—from diagnosis through recovery—and for those who support them along the way
Our Founder

North County Cancer Fitness was founded in 2010 by Deb Snyder of Oceanside, California, following her breast cancer diagnosis. After completing treatment, Deb quickly realized there was no clear path or cancer recovery program available to help survivors safely rebuild strength and return to an active lifestyle.
As a lifelong athlete, she understood she was stepping into a “new normal”—one that required a slow, steady, and intentional approach to healing. When she found that fitness and rehabilitation programs for cancer survivors were not available through her health system, she was inspired to create a solution.
That vision became North County Cancer Fitness—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to provide what was missing: a supportive community, guided fitness, and a safe place to rebuild strength. Today, NCCF continues to support individuals impacted by cancer through connection, movement, and programs designed to strengthen the body, support the mind, and nurture the soul.
Looking Ahead
Help Us Grow Our Vision
North County Cancer Fitness is a place for all people with cancer to thrive through fitness and social connection. It is where I met lifelong friends who keep coming back.
A few years ago, I took the lead when we lost both of our founders to the disease, and now I feel like I have the best of everything. I get to see my ‘besties,’ move my body, give back to others, help this wonderful non-profit, and have a ball doing it all.
What could be better than that?

Our Community
At North County Cancer Fitness, our team is more than a board or leadership group — we are a community of survivors, caregivers, advocates, movers, and dreamers who believe in the healing power of connection, movement, and hope. Led by Carla Going, who stepped into the leadership role with passion and purpose after the loss of our founders, our board blends professional experience with deeply personal dedication. Board member Veronica Ramos, for example, brings fresh perspective and heartfelt commitment to expanding our reach. Together, we share a simple—but powerful philosophy: every person affected by cancer deserves a place to move, connect, heal, and thrive.
